Hilton Head Island Travel Guide

Tuesday, July 24, 2018

As y'all probably noticed from both my Instagram and my recent "My Chic Week" posts, I spent the Fourth of July at Hilton Head Island with my family and our close family friends (who are basically my aunt and uncle). I grew up going to the Outer Banks in the summer but recently, we've gone to the beach at Kiawah Island in South Carolina. I've been to HHI for a weekend when I was younger but this was our first year renting a house there and staying a week!

I wanted to share with y'all more about our trip by sharing a travel guide (check out my travel guides for Kiawah, the Big Island of Hawaii, and New York City too!)

To Stay

We rented a house in Sea Pines, which we loved as we wanted to be close to the beach and also visit for an entire week! The house we stayed in was gorgeous but if you are looking for a shorter trip, there is several hotels on the island as well!

To Eat

The Salty Dog: We actually never ate at the Salty Dog but grabbed ice cream there several times during our trip! The Salty Dog is a famous bar and restaurant on Hilton Head so it's definitely fun to visit to get the experience (and a Comfort Colors t-shirt!)

Harbour Town: Harbour Town has several different restaurants to choose from (we ate at the Crazy Crab) and is such a cute area of Hilton Head! Just a warning, the waits will probably be long so go a hour or two before the time you want to eat!

To Do

Rent Bikes: We rented a bunch of bikes for the week and it was so fun riding them around the island to get ice cream or just for fun! Hilton Head is very bike-friendly so I recommend bringing a bike or renting a bike for the duration of your stay!

Sea Pines Beach Club: If you are staying in Sea Pines, you can go to the Beach Club, which is perfect if your house or condo is further from the beach or if you want to eat at the restaurant there! We admittedly didn't make it over there but I've heard so many good things!

Shop in Harbour Town: Not only does Harbour Town have restaurants but it also has a bunch of cute little shops! It's perfect for getting a soveniour for your trip or just window shopping (and perfect for killing time waiting for your table haha!)

Enjoy the Beach: A bit obvious but I always love spending time at the beach and HHI has such a gorgeous one!

Visit the Lilly Pulitzer Signature Store: Y'all know I love my Lilly and no trip to a new place is complete without a visit to their Lilly Pulitzer store! Hilton Head is home to a gorgeous signature store with the sweetest ladies working there (plus a large sale section!!)Y

Have you ever been to Hilton Head before? Let me know in the comments!
