Lilly Tunics + Denim

Happy Monday y'all! Today marks the start of exam week and even though I don't have an exam until tomorrow morning, a lot of studying will be going on and my outfit will definitely not look this cute!

During the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale back in August, I was able to snag this super cute Lilly tunic that I am obsessed with. I loved it when it came out in stores but decided to hold off and I'm glad I was able to get it on sale. It is silk so it feels the same as my favorite Elsa top but I love that the shape is different! I love resort chic it is, even if it's not exactly summertime here in South Carolina!

My Chic Week: November 24- December 7

Happy Friday y'all! Who is excited for the weekend? I am even though most of it will be spend studying haha! I honestly cannot believe that it is the last weekend of the semester and that finals start on Monday. Clemson is also supposed to get some snow today so hopefully that will add a bit of excitement to my weekend of studying!

Two Fridays ago, I was still at home for Thanksgiving Break (so crazy that it's already been two weeks!) and started my day off with a Pure Barre class. After class, I met my family for a bit of early Christmas shopping and then a stop at Starbucks!

My cousins left in the afternoon on Friday so we said goodbye to them and then we spent the rest of the day decorating the house for Christmas!

On Saturday, I went to another barre class and then my family and I picked out our Christmas tree, which is always a highlight of the Christmas season. We decorated in the afternoon and then we had some family friends over to watch the Clemson vs. South Carolina game!

Sunday was my last day at home and I spent the morning relaxing and then packing up to head back to Clemson. One of my sorority sisters took the train from her hometown to Charlotte so I picked her up there and then we drove back to Clemson together, which made the ride a lot more entertaining.

Monday was a pretty busy day getting back into the routine of the things. I had class in the morning before catching up on a few things in Starbucks!

I had my field placement Tuesday morning and then the rest of my day was fairly routine, nothing too crazy!

I had two classes on Wednesday and then my bio lab was canceled, which was nice as I had more time to study for my bio exam the next day! I wound up camping out in the library to study so that was fun haha.

Thursday morning, I had my exam and I'm proud to say that I did way better than I expected to! A celebratory stop at Chick-fil-a was in order and then I had my second class of the day!

Friday was a fairly normal day of class but the exciting part of my day started when class ended as last weekend was the ACC Championship and Clemson played Miami in Charlotte. My friends and I decided to go to the game and stay at my house so we headed out after class on Friday. We had a laid back pizza dinner and then went in the hot tub!

Saturday morning, we were honestly pretty lazy and stayed in our pajamas super late. Once we got ready, we headed to my favorite mall for a bit to do some shopping before the game!

We then went to two of my favorite spots in Charlotte: Bakersfield East Blvd. and then Amelie's in Uptown. I had never been to the Uptown location of Amelie's but since it was close to the stadium, it was so fun to take my friends there!

Then it was time for the game! It was so much fun and it was great to see Clemson win in my hometown!

Sunday morning, we slept in, ate a homemade breakfast, and then packed up all of our stuff to head back to Clemson! Thankfully, we didn't hit any traffic so I was able to move my car and get dressed before my sorority's chapter meeting.

Monday morning, I had a presentation in my World Religions class and then my Math class. Since I don't have any classes Monday afternoon, I decided to take the time to catch up on some blog for y'all, which was much needed. Even though I have exams next week, I am still planning on having posts up so be sure to stop by to check those out!

Tuesday morning was my last field placement of the semester, which was definitely a little sad as I loved the classroom I worked in!

I then had my bio class, got my life together in the afternoon, had my sociology class, and then did a Pure Barre workout in my dorm room!

Wednesday, I had two classes in the morning and then had lunch in the dining hall with some of my friends. We're all in the same math class and have formed a tradition of going every class, thankfully most of us are in the next level of math at the same time so we can continue this next semester.

I had my last biology lab of the semester in the afternoon and then got some work done after that.

We had our last function of the semester on Wednesday night and it was holiday themed. I brought one of my friends who isn't in Theta and it was so much fun!

Thursday morning, I slept in before heading to my last Biology class of the semester, which was such a relief to have all wrapped up.

I have a presentation and paper due today for my Education class and spent some time working on my paper in the afternoon, only to find out that my computer decided to save it as a Word Work document and have it vanish (seriously y'all, if you understand what that means, I have no idea lol!). I stopped by the IT office to see if there was any home and then went to class.

After class, I met up with one of my friends to go to an event that Panhellenic was throwing in the Greek Quad. They had free food and free Comfort Color t-shirts so I will never complain about that! We then camped out my sorority's study room to get some work done (with a few breaks for cookies and hot chocolate downstairs in-between!).

On my Radar:

1. You can't miss the latest collection of limited edition Lilly active wear in some of your favorite prints (think You Gotta Regatta!)

2. Love these tips from Jillian on staying healthy during the holidays

3. So excited about Kate the Wasp's podcast with Amy of I Believe in Pink! Plus, they're both Thetas!

7. This is the sweetest story that will definitely brighten up your Friday!

Stripes & Bell Sleeves

Over the summer, I found this darling Draper James top and knew I had to have it. I'm obviously a lover of anything striped and thought the bell sleeves were too cute! For any of my Carolina girls, y'all know that there is no way that I would be wearing anything with sleeves on it for months so it sat patiently in my closet at home waiting for some cooler weather.

I brought it back with me to Clemson after fall break and I've honestly gotten so much use of it as striped shirts are such a classic and the bell sleeve adds an unexpected twist (plus, I have been loving bell sleeves this season).

Stripes look perfect paired with pearls and riding boots for a preppy winter look and I love how this outfit turned out. Perfect for sorority chapter meetings or Church or Sundays and swap out the pearls for a simple monogram necklace for a class presentation!

Gift Guide: The College Girl

Today, I'm so excited to be sharing my second gift guide with y'all (read my first one here): gifts for college girls! These are some products that I have found super useful in my day-to-day college life that just happen to make great gifts as well! Whether its for a senior in high school to help her prep for college next fall or a current college student, these gifts are practical while still super cute and exciting!

Lilly Pulitzer Robe- I splurged on a Lilly robe before moving in this fall and I can't tell y'all how much I've used it. Especially if your college girl is living in a dorm with a communal bathroom, a good bathroom is a necessity and I love how the Lilly robe adds a bit of glam!

Sorority Tervis Tumbler- Sorority related gifts are always welcome, especially if she joined this semester! I love how cute and practical this tumbler is and they make it for most sororities (I had to include Theta obviously!)

Day Designer- My agenda is like my Bible and keeps my life together on the busiest on weeks here at college. I used Lilly Pulitzer agendas all throughout high school but the Day Designer is such a great fit for college students as my day-to-day schedule is so much more varied than it was in high school. I'm planning on sharing an organization post for my agenda soon but I could not recommend it enough for any college girl!

Longchamp- I've had my Longchamp for two years now and it's such a great carry-all bag for college.  I use a backpack for all of my books and everything but on my busier days, I'll bring my Longchamp along too to serve as a purse. You can literally fit everything inside of it (I have the large size for reference) and it is so classic and versatile!

Anthropologie Mug- Anthropologie has the cutest mugs that would make for such a fun gift! I love how unique they all are, making it easy to find one that fits the personality of your college gal. Plus, I used whatever coffee cups we had at home in high school so gathering my own collection of mugs was definitely important when I came to college!

Lululemon Align Pant- I swear by these leggings (literally wearing them as I type this) and have recommended them to practically all of my friends. Lulu is a bit of a splurge but they're so worth it as I literally wear them several times a week. The material is the softest and makes you feel like you're wearing pajamas plus the high waist is so flattering!

Keurig- College girls love their coffee and a Keurig is such a practical gift that she will definitely get a ton of use of. I never used a Keurig before starting college as we had a regular coffee maker at home but the Keurig is so easy as I definitely don't need an entire pot of coffee. Plus, you can use it for hot chocolate or tea and it can heat up cups of water as well.

Vineyard Vines Shep Shirt- I have two Shep Shirts from earlier on in high school and I've found that I wear them so much more in college. They're perfect for those in-between days where it's too cold for just a t-shirt but too hot for a thick jacket and they're so comfortable too!

What other gifts do you think are perfect for college girls? Let me know in the comments!

November Favorites

Yay for a second surprise post of the today over here at Chic in Carolina! I figured that since I didn't have a post go up yesterday, I would do two today to get back into the swing of things and I'm so excited to share my November Favorites with y'all!

If you're new to Chic in Carolina (if so, welcome!), at the start of each month I share my favorites from the month before. It's such a fun way to peek into my month and also share some fun products with y'all that I hope you love as much as I do!

Grey Lululemon Pullover (similar)- While shopping in Greenville with Riley, I found this amazing pullover in Lululemon. It was a bit of a splurge but totally worth it in my opinion as it is so comfortable and I wear it all the time (probably a little bit too often!)

Drybar Triple Sec Hairspray- I got this in a set from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale as I love Drybar's dry shampoo and it came with a bottle of their hairspray as well. I waited until I polished off another bottle of hairspray but I seriously love this one so far! It works really well and also smells amazing!

Pureology Hydrate Shampoo + Conditioner- Super exciting update of me switching up my shampoo and conditioner I know! The hydrate line from Pureology smells amazing (the shampoo smells vaguely like Whole Foods haha) and makes my hair feel great as well.

Yeti Tumbler- My family is big fans of Yeti tumblers for keeping your water cold throughout the day and while I was home for Fall Break (a while ago, I know haha!), I put this adorable Theta sticker my mom got for me on a spare one we had at home. I seriously love it and use it just about everyday!

Annie's Organic Snack Mix- My mom sent me a box of this snack mix in a care package and oh my goodness, it is so good. Like I literally ate a box in two days. I brought some more back with me after Thanksgiving and I definitely recommend that you pick some up on your next trip to the grocery store!

What were your November favorites? Let me know in the comments!

Christmas Dresses

Christmas is just around the corner (reminding myself of that with exams next week haha!) and I am honestly so excited as Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I always love dressing up on Christmas Eve for Mass with my family so this post of dresses perfect for Christmas is always a favorite of mine!

I'm planning on wearing this black dress that I wore for my sorority semi-formal earlier this semester (and styled in this blog post!) but all of these options make me want to buy another dress for the occasion!

What will you be wearing for Christmas? Let me know in the comments!

Final Exams Study Tips

Happy Friday y'all! I meant to have this post go up yesterday but I had a bio test yesterday morning and spent pretty much all afternoon Wednesday studying for it (a little ironic given the title of this post haha!). So y'all get two posts today: this post and then a new My Chic Week post later this afternoon!

Final exam week is less than two weeks away and I feel like everyone on campus is stressed getting through the last set of tests before exams and then all of the final papers and projects! If you're in the same boat that I am (high school or college), I wanted to share some of my favorite go-to tips to help you through finals week.

Find a study spot that works for you
Finals week is the time where you want to be the most productive with your time and how productive you are can be influenced by the environment. I'm usually more productive and focused when I study in the library or in Starbucks but my dorm room is definitely not the most productive place for me to study. But it also depends from person to person as I know people who can't study in the library and prefer to study in their rooms! Knowing what works best for you will help you do better in getting your studying done!

Retype your Notes
I usually handwrite my notes in class so the first thing I do when I start studying is take my notes and type them all up on my laptop. This makes studying later on easier and also gets you more familiar with the material, which definitely doesn't hurt!

Utilize Quizlet
Another go-to study method? Quizlet! I've been using quizlet since my freshman year of high school (fun fact: my classmates called me the Quizlet Queen lol) and it is such an easy way to learn the material. Plus, they also have different games to play using your flashcards!

Study in the method that works best
Finals isn't exactly the time to try something new! If a study method has worked for you in the past, stick to it and use it again for the final.

Review with friends
My friends in my math class and I usually study together for our tests and it is honestly so helpful for studying the material. Your classmates may have a way to look at that tricky concept that makes more sense to you or help you make acronyms for memorizing something. Plus it makes studying for hours a bit more exciting!

Get enough sleep
Sleep is so so important and finals isn't a time to slack off on it. It's so much harder to do your best (or even stay awake during the exam!) if you're exhausted so make sure to get to bed at a somewhat decent time!

Reward yourself after the test!
I am a big fan of treating yourself once you finish the exam, even if it's nothing crazy! Getting a celebratory Chick-fil-a lunch or watching an episode or two of your favorite show on Netflix while eating ice cream are some of my favorite ways to relax after an exam and relieve stress.

Any tips that you would add? Let me know in the comments!

A Dress You Need for Fall

I am so excited to be sharing this outfit post with y'all today as it is seriously one of my favorite dresses this fall. While shopping in a cute little boutique in downtown Clemson (All Inspired- if you're ever in Clem!), I stumbled upon it and knew I needed it for gameday. It was the last one in the store, it fit, and it was on sale (win win win!). I am typically not a Free People kind of a gal but I love this dress!

I wore it for the Clemson vs. Florida State game a few weeks back (a mistake since it was so cold) and then again for Thanksgiving last week! I love how cute it is with both cowboy boots and riding boots for a quintessential fall look!
