How to be a Lady in Today's World

Tuesday, May 5, 2015

One of the things that I try to work on in my day to day life is being a lady. No, I don't wear dresses and high heels every day of my life. I try to incorporate some lady-like qualities in my ordinary life.

Think Before You Post- Social Media is everywhere! And depending on your account, it can be found by anyone on the internet! Think before what you post because you never know who will see it!

Know When to put your Phone done- Personally, I am never without my phone. But, it shows respect when you are with someone to keep your phone away. Even with your friends, it shows that you care about what they are saying if you are not focused on your Instagram feed!

Write Thank You Notes- I've written about this before (in this post) but I am a firm believer in thank you notes. Nothing shows thankfulness like a hand-written note!

Have Manners (towards everyone)- It can be as simple as saying "Yes ma'am" or "Thank you sir". The Golden Rule of "treat others how you want to be treated" always is good to live by. For example, acting snobby in restaurants does not show respect to the servers and you may not receive as great service. Or it applies to school as well in just respecting everyone from the custodian to the principal.

Dress Appropriate- Again, this does not mean wearing dresses and high heels all the time. It means wearing things that are appropriate for the event. For example, a crop top would not be appropriate for going to Church in my book!

Don't change your Values, based on what everyone else does- Just because something is "cool" does not mean that you have to do it! If you are uncomfortable with doing something, you do not have to do it!

I also love this article that talks more about this topic!

What is your favorite lady-like habit? Share it with me in the comments!
