The Perfect School Tote

Monday, May 4, 2015

I am really tough on my backpacks for school. Like in the seventh grade, my backpack lost a strap so I continued to use it until the other strap fell off too. My high school is super techy (every student is issued a Macbook Pro) so in the eighth grade, I thought that I would only have to carry my laptop around so for graduation, I got a cute Vera Bradley tote bag.

Well, I was wrong: I do have a lot of binders and stuff to store in my bag.  Being me, my bag was starting to fall apart at the end of last year but I decided to continue to use it. It is way too small now (I had to basically do a puzzle every time I wanted to put something into my bag) and the straps were on the verge of breaking (One of my teachers actually told me that I should get a new backpack). Also, it didn't zip close so I would always risk leaving it on the field during soccer (it could get wet!). I love that bag, it was just too small and was on the verge on falling apart! Enter my new bag: the Land's End Large Tote.

When I was younger (probably fourth grade), my mom ordered my siblings and I the medium size version of this bag and it still looks perfect and new (I currently use it as my Faith Formation bag). My mom recommended that I get the larger version for my school bag and I love it! It is so big and holds everything I need! It has a clip to attach your car keys to! It zips up! Basically the perfect bag!

My new bag!

My old bag (top) vs. my new bag (bottom). My new one is so much bigger. Notice the falling to pieces strap on my old one, lol!

PS- This post was not sponsored by Land's End, I just really love my new bag and wanted to share it with y'all!

  1. My mom has so many of those kinds of bags, they are super durable and hold a ton of stuff! I'm thinking I may have to invest in one soon, great post!!

    1. I'm in love with mine! I would definitely buy one!

  2. I really need a new school bag too! There's a giant hole in the side that I have pinned closed with a safety pin plus the bag is just so small! I got it at Claire's because it was so pretty, but it's really not all that functional. My binders and textbooks don't fit in it and if I put a paper or folder in it, they just get crumpled. I really want a tote bag, but I don't have any money right now so I'm just trying to last till the end of May then I'll get a new bag for next school year.

    1. Haha that was the boat I was in before! I like the Land's End one since it is cheaper than most options (under $60 including monogramming)!
