I'm a sucker for a good sale so if I like something that's on sale or there's a discount code (hey J. Crew), I'm way more likely to buy it even if I have something very similar in my closet. Going a month without shopping definitely made me realize the amount of impulse purchases I make and hopefully I'll be able to be more mindful of that in the future.
Not shopping for a month saved me so much money. Those little purchases definitely add up over time and not shopping after a few months of doing a lot of shopping helped me to put some more money into my savings account and towards car insurance payments (fun stuff).
It was definitely hard for me to accomplish this goal as I was tempted quite a few times to cheat (thanks amazing Labor Day sales). I somehow pushed through and managed not to cheat at all. But I'm definitely excited for my next trip to the mall ;)
Have you ever done a month without shopping? How did it go? Let me know in the comments!
I'm not sure if I've ever gone a month without shopping. I'm sure I have before, but that was probably when I was so busy with school and didn't have a job yet. Now I can't imagine doing it!

I am definitely a bit of a shopaholic (a little bit) so this was a great way to cut back on spending! I definitely recommend doing it (or at least trying it!)
DeleteA month without shopping is an awesome idea! I have done them before! You feel so refreshed after.
ReplyDeleteYes! Even though I love to shop, it was a nice "re-set" of sorts!
DeleteGood for you for sticking to it! I haven't gone clothes shopping in so long that I can't even remember the last thing I bought for myself. All of my efforts have been focused on the house, purchasing furniture and decor, so I still satisfy that craving for new things, ha!
ReplyDeleteThanks Oksana!
DeleteA month without shopping is such a good idea! I buy way to many pairs of shoes! lol

Good luck girl! I'm definitely planning on doing another one in 2017!
DeleteThis was also one of my goals on my 101 in 1001 and I even extended mine into food shopping. It was tough, but I made it and, you're right, my bank account definitely thanked me for it.
ReplyDeleteWow, I couldn't imagine no food shopping- that's awesome!
DeleteOh girl I can SO relate to this! Going without shopping is super difficult but can definitely be worth the savings!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! Thanks for reading!
