When you walk into my bedroom, the first thing you see is this bookshelf. The bookshelf originally was in my sister's room but when she wanted to get rid of it, I knew it would be perfect to add a bit more storage in my room.
I like to keep the top shelf pretty clean so on one side are my old Lilly agendas that I can't bear to get rid of, a cupcake recipe book, and a few Lilly product catalogs all held up by the Kate Spade box my watch came in. On the other side (you can see this in the other picture) is a Lilly box lid that holds a picture frame (that I got from Home Goods so I'm unable to link it!).
The second shelf is a bit more practical and holds two boxes (I don't know what they are formally called haha!) of school related stuff and college flyers I've received as well as a few binders for some previous classes and NHS. I had to add some cute touches so I put the Laudrée box I got during my New York trip as well as a Lilly box that a candle came in that I keep all of my chargers in when they're not in use.
The bottom two shelves are mainly used to store books (it is a bookshelf after all). On the third shelf, I use an old Tory Burch shoe box to hold pictures as well as notes from family and friends. I also use the bottom shelf as a charging station, so when not in use my laptop is typically there!
A side view that looks out my bedroom door and lets y'all see both my wooden monogram and my gallery wall at the same time
This was the last piece I added my room- I needed something on the wall between the doors of my bathroom and my bedroom and this wooden monogram wound up being perfect. I got mine at a local boutique but check Etsy for something similar!
north carolina print (free and has a version for all 50 states), ginger jar + peonies print (under $15 for the 8 by 10 sized print which I have)
When coming up with the inspiration for my redesign, I absolutely knew that I needed to incorporate a gallery wall into my space somehow. I have this wall next to my closet, so I decided that would be the perfect spot for it! I combined a few art prints with some personal photos and I absolutely love how it turned out! Despite all of the planning gallery walls require, it wound up being perfect and one of my favorite aspects of my new room!
A side view that allows you to see the side of my bookshelf, my gallery wall, my closet, and the hooks I have to the side.
To the side of my closet, I have three hooks that are perfect for holding my two Lilly cashmere scarves and my Kate Spade tote. Sometimes, I like to display one of my Lilly dresses instead of the tote but it depends!
At the end of my bed, I have this storage ottoman from Target that holds a lot more than expected (there's a ridicolous amount of stuff in there haha!). I keep a Lilly tray on top that holds a bunch of catalog and I usually lay out my clothes for the next day on my ottoman as well.
Before my room redo, I had a loft bed so my bed is definitely the most changed of my room. But I'm obsessed! The headboard is the best as it's comfy to lay your head on and I love the fun touch the pillows add to my room!
A side view of my bed and desk. As you can see, they're pretty close to each other but it works out well as I can use my desk as a nightstand.
My desk is so much more practical now because before, it was very cramped as it was under my bed (which you can see in this post). Now, I love it so much more and find myself actually sitting there and using it!
My mom and I found this bulletin board at Home Goods and I instantly knew I had to incorporate it into my room. I combined postcards and stickers from some of my favorite brands, quotes printed from Pinterest, and pictures to create an "inspiration board". Also, I have my NHS certificate I received at my induction but I blurred out some of the information for privacy reasons.
My dresser doubles as a vanity so this part of my room is my primping area with a mirror to get ready in the morning.
I've had this storage thing from Pottery Barn teen for years and it is so helpful as it holds my hair dryer, curling iron, and flat iron as well as other beauty products on the shelf.
There's a bit of space between my dresser and the wall so I added this bookshelf/cubby unit from Target to fill the gap and add a bit of storage. I store my hair brushes as well as a makeup bag and a candle on the top. I keep all my hair stuff in the first bin and then the second one is full of random items!
Another view of my dresser
At the edge of my dresser, I have this adorable frame from Home Goods (which is why I can't link it) along with an acrylic tray I bought from a local boutique that is monogrammed and holds all of my daily jewelry!
I hope y'all enjoyed my room tour and please let me know in the comments if there's any other posts y'all would like to see on this topic (how to build a gallery wall, general tips for re-doing your room, how to save money while re-doing your room, a video version of this tour, a closet tour, a bathroom tour, etc.)!
