Senior Year Bucket List

Tuesday, August 30, 2016

I'm honestly in disbelief that I'm a senior in high school...for quite a while it seemed like the day would never come but now it has! Senior year is already busy and a whirlwind and I know the rest of the year is going to be the same way!

In order to keep myself a bit accountable, I put together a bucket list of all the things I want to do this year before graduating in the spring (don't know if graduation will be in May or June yet haha). Renee, Frannie, Caroline, and Nicole all posted their bucket lists for their freshman years of college, giving me the inspiration for this post! Some are actual things I want to do while some are academic focused, here's to hoping I'll be able to cross all of them off of my list.

Make straight A's- I have definitely come super close to doing this (like having an 89 in one class while the rest are A's) but this year, I definitely want to do this! It will definitely be a challenge as I'm taking two AP classes again this year but hopefully it will happen

Go to a corn maze with friends- My friends and I did this our sophomore year and it was definitely one of my favorite high school memories so far! I definitely want to go back this fall!

Attend more sports events at my school- One thing I haven't been the best about is going to sports events at my high school. Sure, I've been to a couple but I definitely want to go to more this year, especially now that my school has a football team!

Finish college applications- Sounds like a given but definitely something I need to do before the year is over! I submitted my first application this past week but still have quite a few more to do!

Go to the Farmer's Market- The town one over from mine has a super cute Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings and somehow, I've never been! I've heard so many good things so I want to go soon.

Have a lake day with a friend- I live super close to a lake and my family has a boat so I definitely want to have at least one lake day with a friend this summer (what's left of it haha) or next summer. This summer, I was either away on vacation or couldn't get my schedules to work with my friends so unfortunately, I didn't get in any lake days with friends this summer!

Try new restaurants in Charlotte- Charlotte has so many incredible restaurants and I honestly haven't been to a ton of them. I'm hoping to check out a bunch of new restaurants, Charlotte girls- any I can't miss?

Spend quality time with my family- I honestly can't believe this is my last full year of living at home (my sister is already saying that she wants to turn my room into a living room for her...that's not going to happen) and I definitely want to spend more time with my family as I will be at least a few hours away this time next year!

Take a weekend trip- I love to travel and would definitely love to take a weekend trip this year. I have been dying to visit Charleston again (read about my last visit here) but would also love to visit Nashville. I also have two last college visits coming up this fall that I'm super excited about!

Host a brunch- It seems that I can't go on Instagram (follow me here) on the weekends without seeing a million brunch photos. One weekend this year, I would love to have my friends over for a fun brunch!

Decide on a college- Another given but a pretty big part of senior year! I can't wait to take y'all along with me during the application process and talk about admissions later on in senior year,

Are you a senior this year? What is on your bucket list? Let me know in the comments!

  8. Such great goals!!! If I can recommend one thing it would be to have all of your apps done ASAP. I had half of mine done before school even started - that way I could focus all fall on writing the essays for my dream schools. Make sure you're done with EVERYTHING before you leave for winter break - makes it just a little bit more relaxing!
