My Chic Week: August 11-17

Friday, August 18, 2017

Happy Friday y'all! Today is the big day: MOVE IN DAY! As y'all read this, I will be driving down to Clemson with my family to move into my freshman dorm room. We have sorority recruitment orientation tonight and then recruitment kicks off tomorrow so it will be a busy first few weeks at Clemson.

I've scheduled lots of fun posts for y'all for the next few weeks so be sure to check back in each morning at 8 AM. For a more up-to-date look on what I'm up to, be sure to follow me on Instagram and Twitter- I'm planning on showing y'all how dorm decorating is going and then snaps from recruitment!

Last Friday started off on the early side as I woke up early to go to a 6 AM Pure Barre class. I went to the 6 AM class once or twice a week during the school year but haven't been in forever so I went on Friday to earn a bingo stamp as my studio is currently doing Pure Barre Bingo.

Once I got home, my mom and I dropped my car off to get my oil change done and then we had a couple of errands to run, including getting a pair of cowboy boots!

I met up with my friend Amy of Pastel N Pink in the afternoon at Amelie's so we could both get some blog work done and catch up. For all of my non-Charlotte readers, Amelie's is the best French bakery in town and has the most delicious Salted Caramel Brownies (and macarons). It was so fun to catch up with Amy before moving to Clemson and pairing it with dessert made it even better.

Saturday morning, I went to an earlier than usual Pure Barre class, which was a great way to kick off my Saturday on a productive note. Saturday, I did a lot of packing and working on blog posts to pre-schedule for the next few weeks for y'all- nothing too crazy.

Saturday night, my family and I went over to our family friends's house (they used to live next-door to us!) for dinner, which was a lot of fun. It was great to see them before move-in day and they were so sweet and got me a Nothing Bundt Cake to celebrate.

Sunday morning, I went to another barre class and I then spent the rest of the day packing and getting things ready for move-in.

My family and I went out to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants Sunday night, which was so fun. The dress I wore is actually my first Lilly dress so it's not available anymore but my Jacks are! Sunday night was great as my family and I were spend time together, which I know will be harder since I'm now at college.

Monday morning, I was up bright and early to nanny and then I met up with one of my best friends for a little bit. I was texting her hoping we could catch up before we both moved in (she moved in Wednesday) so it worked out that we had a hour or so to catch up on Monday.

I then went to Pure Barre, ran home for lunch, ran an errands, and made some cookies (which I documented on my Instagram stories) before going to nanny again.

Tuesday morning, I nannied for a few hours before going to the mall as I had a few errands to run there. I, of course, couldn't stay away from the Lilly store and had to come home with something right?

I went to a few other stores and ate lunch before going back to the family I nanny for's house for a bit.

I stayed for dinner with the family I nanny for on Tuesday, which was so sweet as they picked up barbecue (my fav!) and also got me the cutest cake and some sweet gifts! I'm so lucky to work for such a great family and can't wait to spend time with the boys I nanny next summer!

I only worked in the morning on Wednesday so I had the rest of the day to pack and get stuff done. I went to barre at noon, which was fun as it was my last time taking class with the owner of my studio! She insisted on snapping a few pics so I had to share one with you.

I did a bunch of packing on Wednesday and also had a doctor's appointment in the afternoon. After my appointment, I went to get my nails done for sorority recruitment.

Thursday was my last day at home and was also my last day of my nannying job, which was a tough morning haha. I've been working with the same family for nearly two years and it was so hard leaving  the sweet little boys I nanny. Thankfully, I'll be back next summer and we went to Duck Donuts as a last hurrah!

The rest of the day flew by as I went to barre, finished packing, worked on blog posts, and one of my best friends stopped by to say goodbye!

On my Radar:

1. Move In & Recruitment! As I mentioned before, I move in today and then begin sorority recruitment tomorrow morning (bright and early!). I know it will be a busy few weeks but I'm so excited, any last minute tips?

2. Love this post from The Everygirl about the 5 Habits of Confident Women

3. Jack Rogers just released some new flats that are perfect for fall- how cute is this navy pair?

4. As an incoming freshman, I found this post by my friend Renee really helpful

5. While at the mall earlier this week, I tried on this Lilly set and loved it! It's a bit out of my style comfort zone but I think it will be so cute from Clemson gameday!

On the blog this week:

Happy Friday!
