Cookie Dough Brownies

Wednesday, August 12, 2015

I'm sure y'all have seen the pin (on Pinterest, follow me here) for Cookie Dough Brownies, or a layer of brownies with a layer of cookie dough. Well, I probably have it pinned on my Dessert board at least 20 times and a few weeks ago, on a rainy afternoon on my trip to Upstate New York (read all about it here), I decided to make them. After a bit of a set back (we had no cocoa powder in the house somehow), I made them and let me tell y'all, they are amazing! The originial recipe calls for a layer of chocolate on top of the cookie dough, but we decided to forgo that since we didn't have any heavy cream and they still turned out amazing!

 The ingredients:
vanilla extract, eggs, unsweetened cocoa powder, salt, butter, sugar, brown sugar, milk, flour, chocolate chips

Part 1: The Brownie Layer

Step 1: Mix the butter, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl

Step 2: Beat in the eggs

Step 3: Add flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Mix

Step 4: Fold in chocolate chips

Step 5: Pour into the prepared pan

Step 6: Bake for 22-26 minutes

Part 2: Cookie Dough Layer

Step 1: Cream butter, white sugar, and brown sugar with a mixer

Step 2: Add in milk

Step 3: Add in flour a little bit at a time

Step 4: Stir in chocolate chips with a spoon

Step 5: Place in the fridge until the brownies are completely cooled

Part 3: Assembly

Step 1: Remove brownies from the oven and let them completely cool

Step 2: Once the brownies are completely cool, spread cookie dough on top and there you have cookie dough brownies!
