My Chic Week: July 28- August 3

Friday, August 4, 2017

Happy Friday y'all! This week definitely flew by and now I only have two weeks before the big day- college move in! I know the next few weeks will go by so quickly, which is bittersweet as I will miss my family, friends, and the kiddos I nanny but I'm so excited for my new adventures at Clemson!

Before I get too sentimental on y'all (haha), let's talk about this weekend! One of my best friends and I are grabbing juice after my barre class today but I don't have too much going on other than a few barre classes and maybe going on the lake with my family. As always, I'll be sharing that next week but let's catch up on what I've been up to this week!

Friday's are my day off of work and last Friday started on the early side as I went to a 7:15 AM Pure Barre class. I had a doctor's appointment in the morning and then my mom and I spent some time at the passport office as I needed to get mine haha. I also ran a bunch of errands in the afternoon, including another trip to Target and Home Goods for items for my dorm.

I babysat that night and wound up face timing Riley of Northern Prepster and a few of her friends, which was so hilarious.

One of my best friends and I went out to brunch on Saturday morning, which was so fun. We went to Boudreaux's in NoDa (I learned about it from my friend Amy's Charlotte brunch guide) as their beignets looked incredible and we couldn't pass that up! We had such a great time catching up and the food was delicious too!

After brunch, I went home for a bit before heading over to our family friend's lake house for an afternoon on their dock. Our other family friends from Chicago were in town so it was fun to catch up with them and sit out by the lake. On Saturday night, I babysat again.

I was super productive in terms of organizing my room on Sunday, which was so nice. I think it was the trip to the Container Store last week that did it haha! I managed to organize my desk, dresser, bookshelf, and part of my closet, which makes me feel so much better about moving out in two weeks.

I went to Pure Barre in the afternoon and then worked on prescheduling blog posts for this week. I shared this quick behind-the-scenes snap on my Instagram Story and thought it was too funny!

Monday morning, I nannied in the morning then came home to work on a few things for the blog before barre class.

After barre, I met up with my mom and siblings for a quick lunch, which was delicious! I had a quick errand to run afterwards and then I nannied in the afternoon as well.

Tuesday was another early morning to get up for work but I just got this darling to-go coffee mug from Target for 3 dollars, which certainly brightened up my morning!

I wound up hanging out at the family I nanny for's house all day and managed to be really productive and cross quite a few items off of my to-do list. I nannied again in the afternoon before heading back home!

Wednesday morning, I nannied and then went to a Pure Barre class afterwards. I came home for lunch and then worked on a few things for Clemson.

I then worked a few more hours and wound up working a bit later than usual. I ate dinner with the family I nanny for and it was fun to spend a bit of extra time with the kids!

I only worked in the morning on Thursday so I was home fairly early for the day. This week has been full of various to-do's for moving into my dorm in two weeks so I was able to get another few things done.

My Pure Barre studio just started a new cardio class called Empower this week (it is being released nationally this month) so I tried it out yesterday. It is similar to Platform but has arm and leg weights (not at the same time though) and is only 45 minutes! Even though it is so hard, I can't wait for my next one!

Thursday night was the Charlotte Clemson Send-Off so my mom and I went to that for a little bit. We were able to meet with some Charlotte area Clemson alums and then some other Clemson freshmen as well!

On my Radar this Week:

1. This outfit looks so cute on my friend, Cara, and I love her new blog design!

2. Big Little Lies! After reading the book over spring break, I knew that I wanted to watch the show and since the family I nanny for has a HBO subscription, I started the show this week. It is so good and I'm hoping to finish it before I move into Clemson!

3. Definitely taking a few notes from Shannon's College Move In Day Essentials post

4. These pictures that Kelly shared of her daughter, Emma, are adorable!

5. I read Fitness Junkie this week and it was hilarious- I couldn't put it down

Happy Friday!

  2. I've always wanted to try a Barre class! Unfortunately, the closest one is about 30 minutes from me and that's just too far lol. I have friends that do it and absolutely LOVE it (& of course have killer bodies).
