I figured to get everything back on track here on Chic in Carolina, I would share a quick little update post of what has been going on in my life since I've last posted. I have so many blog post ideas to share with y'all and will be posting more frequently on Insta as well (I promise!) so stay tuned!
New York
I talked about my trip a bit in my last My Chic Week post but my family travels to our lake house in Upstate New York every summer. This year, we only went for one week as my family had stuff going on and I just got back from the beach and was heading back to Clemson very shortly but it was so much fun!
We got back home from New York on Saturday (8/4) so I had a few days at home before heading back to Clemson on Friday (8/10). My last few days at home were busy as I was trying to soak everything in while I had the time to! On Sunday, a few of my high school friends and I went over to one of our friend's house as she moved in the next day, which was so fun and we were all able to say our goodbyes again! I nannied during the week, did a juice cleanse with my mom, took a few barre classes, packed everything up to head back to Clemson, and just spent time relaxing with my family.
Recruitment Workshop!
All of the sororities at Clemson come back a few days earlier than recruitment starts to prepare during their recruitment workshop (or polish week or spirit week!). It was so exciting to see all of my sisters after a few months apart and a bunch of my friends stayed at my friend's lake house nearby, which was so fun!
Sophomore Move In
After our workshop ended on Sunday, we had all of Monday (8/13) to move in. I left my friend's lake house around 10:15 to have lunch with my parents at the Esso Club (an iconic spot in Clemson!) before grabbing my key and starting to move in.
I'm living with my friend Rachel this year (who y'all met in this blog post!) on our sorority hall and we (along with our families!) worked pretty much all afternoon to get things into order and unpacked!
Recruitment Week
Recruitment is a crazy time for everyone participating. Last year as a PNM, it was pretty emotionally exhausting while this year as a sister, it is a different type of stress and craziness. The days absolutely flew by and the craziness was worth it once Bid Day arrived!
I will be sharing a whole separate post all about Bid Day (as well as one about what I wore for recruitment this year!) but it was honestly such a fun day and so exciting to see my chapter's hard work during recruitment pay off in our amazing new member class!
Thanks for sticking around here at Chic in Carolina and I can't wait to share lots of fun content with y'all soon!
