ADK Recap

Tuesday, August 4, 2015

As y'all probably know, I just got back from my trip to Upstate New York. During my two week trip, I decided not to have My Chic Week and do a big recap afterwards instead because I couldn't really post in NY and I decided it would be fun for y'all to see the different things I did (versus the boring, I went to the beach and then into town and then to the beach...).

Every year since I was a baby, my family and I travel up to my family's house in Upstate New York. My mom grew up vacationing there and my grandmother vacationed there as well when she was a teenager. My extended family has two houses next door to each other so my family (my grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, my parents, my siblings, and I) stay in one house. The house is located on a mountain with gorgeous views of the lake below!

I have so many pictures so I broke them up into three different collages.

During our first week in NY, we toured Fort Ticonderoga and celebrated National Ice Cream Day with some soft serve!

The view from Mount Defiance, Fireworks, the view of the lake from the beach
An afternoon stop at our favorite ice cream place, cooking s'mores, my dad feeding my dog his ice cream cone

Key Lime Cookies (on the blog soon!), the gorgeous sunset, one of me in front of the sunset
Chocolate Cake, Paddleboarding, Lobsters for our annual Lobster Fest, the lake, and Fireworks

I had a great trip seeing family friends and family who live far away, eating (a ton), and spending time at the lake. It was so much fun but I'm glad to be home to get back in the swing of things!

Have you been to Upstate New York before? Let me know in the comments!
