Happy Friday from TigerTown! It's crazy to think that I have been at Clemson for a week already as it's been so crazy with sorority recruitment and starting classes. I was expecting the Lilly Pulitzer sale to be this week and since it's actually
this Monday, I didn't have a post go up since Sunday was crazy with recruitment!
Speaking of recruitment, that's the reason I've been a bit M.I.A on
Instagram and
Twitter! Hopefully, this weekend will go well and I'll have lots to share with y'all soon about it!
Friday was Move In Day here at Clemson and since my move in time wasn't until the mid morning (they give you a time that you can park in front of your building and unload everything), we didn't have to leave home at the absolute crack of dawn. We stopped at Starbucks for breakfast and were at Clemson before we knew it!
Once we got to Clemson, it was crazy getting everything unpacked and then organize (and pretty haha!). My whole family came to move me in, which was so sweet of them, but I realized dorm rooms don't give a lot of space for unpacking and decorating. I will also be doing a full dorm tour in a few weeks but for now, enjoy this little sneak peek!
In the afternoon, we took a break to go grab ice cream at a place in the student center that has delicious homemade ice cream (made by Clemson students!). I also had an orientation session for sorority recruitment so I said goodbye to my family before heading to that.
Friday night, we had orientation for recruitment and also met our Pi Chi (recruitment counselor). The family I nanny for gave me a box of treats from Amelies (which
I went to last week with
Amy!) so my roomie and I enjoyed those before an early bedtime!
Saturday was the first day of sorority recruitment here at Clemson and since my first party started at 8, I was up super bright and early. I visited 8 of Clemson's 13 sororities on Saturday but had a five hour break in the middle, which was nice. I actually wound up grabbing Starbucks with one of the girls on my hall during my break as we both needed some caffeine.
Sunday was another early morning as I had my last five parties and voted on my preferences before going to a few required events for new freshman (like a freshman profile test). After I took the test, I hung out with some of the girls on my hall and we went to a picnic at the President's house. I also had a meeting with my Pi Chi that night to find out my schedule for Monday and Tuesday.
On Monday, I was able to "sleep in" till 7 (better than 5 the two days before) as recruitment didn't start till the afternoon and we had a few events in the morning for Welcome Week.
Monday was, of course, the Eclipse so I was luckily able to see that before heading back to recruitment.
We had our class picture on Wednesday so most of the freshman class went to the football stadium to spell out Tigers. Obviously, I was in the picture so I don't have any of them but Clemson did share a bunch on
their social media.
After the picture, I had recruitment again and then voted after my rounds for the night finished!
Wednesday was the first day of class and thankfully my first class is a 9:05 rather than an 8. My roommate and I were able to grab breakfast and take pictures to send to our moms before class. Our lab classes at Clemson don't start for a few weeks so I had no classes in the afternoon, which was a great time to relax and catch up laundry.
Clemson Panhellenic hosted a barbecue for all the PNMS and Pi Chis to attend, which was a lot of fun. The food was delicious, it was great to spend time with my Pi Chi group, and they had King of Pops too!
After the barbecue, two girls in my Pi Chi group and I headed to downtown Clemson for the Welcome Festival, which was so fun! We walked around a bit and then headed back to our dorms. I showered, watched some Grey's, and then a bunch of the girls on my hall and I had movie night!
I am super lucky and don't have early classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I was able to sleep in on Thursday and get some stuff done before heading to my first class. I grabbed Chick-fil-a with a few girls in my Bio class before going back to my dorm to be productive (and work on this blog post honestly!).
I had my second class of the day, ate dinner, and then went to get fro-yo with my Pi Chi group! After getting fro-yo, I wound up going to FCA with two of the girls on my hall, which wound up being a lot of fun too!
On my Radar this Week:
2. I am a big fan of making my bed each and every morning and
this article definitely reaffirms why it's so important to make it part of your morning routine
4. The Emily Ley Team re-shared
this old blog post of theirs in an email this week about how to keep your workspace tidy and it's a good reminder at the beginning of the school year!
On the blog:
Happy Friday!
