Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale Tips

Saturday, January 2, 2016

Happy Saturday y'all! It's almost that time of the year again: time for the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale! If you haven't shopped this sale before, this is BIG! Lilly hosts a big online sale twice a year: in January and then in late August. Lilly officially announced the sale yesterday and the sale will be this Monday! Unlike other years, the sale will only be ONE day so be sure to shop on Monday if you don't want to miss out on the great deals!

I'm going to share my tips for sale success with y'all as this post for the last one is my most popular post ever (you can read the original here!). The sale changes a bit from year to year but this tips will definitely help y'all out!

Know the System
Lilly instituted a new system for the last sale: the virtual line. For every shopper that "stops in" on the site at 8 AM, they are placed in a virtual line and have to wait before they can shop. The website tells you how long you have to wait (for example: 1 hour) but it often moves a lot faster than you think it will. I was told it would be a hour but I was "in" the sale within a few minutes!

Don't Refresh
This goes with the previous tip but don't refresh while you are in the virtual line. It will place at the back of line, which is definitely something you don't want to happen.

Make a List (or don't)
This is something I do some years and don't others. The drawback is you get so set on buying a certain item and you may heartbroken when you don't get that particular item. I made a list last time (an Elsa top and a swimsuit) and was able to quickly find everything I wanted. This year I made my list as my mom will be shopping for me (thanks mom!) since I start school again on Monday! This is up go personal preference but if you wind up making a list be sure to check out Lilly's Pinterest for the products that will be in the sale as the website will not have the items up until 8 AM!

Make an Account
If you haven't already, make an account! It makes it so much easier (and faster) if you have your shipping info and credit card already in the system! Make sure to do this before Monday since you will not be able to make an account on the day of the sale!

Know Your Sizes
Throughout the year, I visit my local Lilly store (see recaps of various visits here, here, here, here, and here) and try on everything I like so that way if I don't wind up buying it right then, I know my size for the sale. I suggest doing this throughout the year but for the sale which is on Monday, I would suggest heading to your local store and try on a few favorites (Elsa tops, shorts, etc.) since everything in the sale is Final Sale (aka you can't return it)

Stay Calm
After all it is just a sale (repeats this mantra in my head all weekend)! Don't stress yourself out over this and have fun!

Start right at 8 AM
The sale goes for two days but things go FAST. Log in before 8 and refresh until 8 AM (but don't refresh after that!)

Move Quickly and Get As Much Into Your Cart As Possible
With the line system once you log out you are put at the back of the line before you can shop again. Typically, Lilly suggests checking out frequently but DO NOT do  that with the new system! I did not  have an issue with this during the last sale but move quickly as stuff sells out quickly and get everything you want into your cart before checking out!

Use the App
Last time, the app had no line when the site did. Make sure you're logged in on the app as well and it may work a bit quicker (and allow you access to items before they sell out!).

Good luck shopping!

    1. Not yet! I usually look through Lilly's board for each of their collections containing the product (i.e. Fall 2015, Resort 2016, etc.)
