My Chic Week: July 20-26

Monday, July 30, 2018

Happy Monday from Upstate New York! Sorry for the brief lack of posts last week- I was in Bald Head Island with the family I nanny for last week, was home for a day, and then my family and I headed up to our lake house in Upstate New York on Friday so it's been pretty busy! I'm hoping to get all caught up over here on the blog so I figured I would start with a MCW post as I have lots of photos to share with y'all today!

Since I had the day off of work on Friday, I had a lot to do (evident by my to-do list below haha!). I got some stuff done at home before going to a barre class. After class, I grabbed a juice for lunch and then ran a few errands!

My family and I went out on the boat Friday afternoon, which was such a great way to soak in some summertime (I've been trying to soak it all in before heading back to school so soon!). On the way back home, we picked up some pizza for dinner!

Saturday was a pretty laid back day as I slept in before going to an Empower class at my Pure Barre studio. Once I got home, I showered and then worked on a few tasks I needed to get done (including packing). My family and I went to church before a yummy dinner at home!

I left the house around 9:30 on Sunday morning for the beach and had a fairly uneventful ride. One of the cool things about Bald Head is that there is no cars on the island (only golf carts!) so you park your car on the mainland and take the ferry over! I got in for the 2 PM ferry and then headed over to the house with the family I nanny for!

I unpacked and then we went over to the country club to swim and then pick up dinner to bring over to the beach. It was such a gorgeous night, making it perfect to be on the beach!

Monday started off with a golf cart ride to get an iced latte, which I will never complain about!

We went to the beach in the morning but it was unfortunately pretty cloudy in the afternoon. After dinner, we headed out to a little party held by the island, which resulted getting poured on in the golf cart haha! But nothing a little ice cream can't fix!

Tuesday was a pretty rainy day on the island so we went to the Nature Conservancy on the island, which was fun to visit. We had lunch at one of the restaurants at the Marina and then did a little shopping in the afternoon, which was so fun!

On Wednesday, we went to East Beach on the other side of the island, which was so gorgeous! It was such a perfect day to look for shells and play in the water! We then went to the club for lunch and to swim at the pool for a bit before grabbing ice cream!

right: my go-to one piece this summer

Since Wednesday was my last night (the family I nanny for stayed until Sunday!), we went to the club for dinner, which was so delicious and in a gorgeous setting! Once we got back from dinner, I did some laundry and packed up my stuff.

I left the beach house around 10 on Thursday to make the 10:30 ferry. I then loaded up my car and drove back to Charlotte. Once I got back to Charlotte, it was crunch time to get everything ready for my trip to NY the next day. I went to a barre class and got everything all packed up!

Happy Monday!
