The Story Behind my Louis Vuitton Bag

Thursday, June 15, 2017

If you follow me on Instagram (if you don't, you totally should!) or read this blog post, you may have seen that I recently purchased the Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 bag. This is my first "fancy designer" bag (I have Tory Burch and Kate Spade bags but my Louis is first high-end bag so to speak) and I wanted to share the story of why I bought it with y'all!

I first really saw Louis Vuitton bags when I started using Pinterest and saw them featured in different preppy Outfit of the Days. I, of course, loved them but they were a bit out of my budget as a thousand dollars for a bag is a lot of money (especially if you're a ninth grader without a job). I've always loved both the Speedy and the Neverfull but I've always loved the Speedy more as it seems more classic Louis Vuitton to me and is more unique as many other brands carry totes similar in size to the Neverfull. The Speedy has always been a "dream bag" of mine that I planned on getting at some point in the future.

Second semester of junior year was a rough one as I had a tough course load and was experiencing a lot of changes in my friend group that I wasn't quite sure what I was supposed to do a lot. I decided that if I could save up the money throughout senior year, I would buy myself a Speedy as a graduation gift.

So throughout my senior year, I saved 100 dollars a month and by May, I had enough to buy my bag! It was so exciting to purchase the bag I had dreamed about for years and saved up for years. I know that I will be able to use it for years to come (I've been told by ladies who comment on my bag that their Louis bags are from 15 years ago or something like that and they still use them regularly) as it will never go out of style, making the price tag totally worth it to me! Plus, it was a great way to celebrate graduating and I know that every time I use my bag, I will think about graduation and high school!

What is your favorite "from me, to me" gift that you've treated yourself to? Let me know in the comments!
