I am definitely not a makeup guru by any means and I'm pretty simplistic when it comes to makeup as I am a fan of a more natural look but I do love a good trip to Sephora to look at all of the products. My aunt gave me a Birchbox subscription for my birthday this year, which has been so fun as I've been able to try a bunch of new products that I would not usually pick at the store.
One other thing to note is that I don't wear all of this makeup on a day-to-day basis as I try to, when I can, not wear makeup to help my skin be clearer (so like on days where all I have going on is barre class and nannying). I don't wear foundation every day either but I'll note the steps that I only do when I want a more "full face" makeup look!
1. I start off by applying First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Cream all over my face. This cream is super moisturizing and definitely keeps dry skin at bay so I always start with this step (even on days where I'm not wearing any makeup!).
2. Next, I'll grab my Beauty Blender and blend the MAC Strobe Cream all over my face. I received this as a sample in my Birchbox last month and love it as it makes my face look so much brighter- I will definitely be buying the full size once I finish the sample.
3. If I'm going to be wearing foundation that day, I'll first apply the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer using my Beauty Blender. I first received this product as a sample and was a bit skeptical of if it would be beneficial as it seems a bit unnecessary but this primer makes your makeup look so much smoother and I loved it so much that I bought the full-size version.
4. I'll then put the Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiation Concealer onto any blemishes and under my eyes and blend using my Beauty Blender. This concealer does its job and I love that it doesn't feel too heavy!
5. After hearing so many good things about it, I bought the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation last year and absolutely love it! It makes your skin look flawless (hence the title) and even though I try not to wear liquid foundation everyday as it clogs up your skin, it's perfect for days where you want to wear more makeup.
6. I received this Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush as part of my birthday gift from Sephora and it's perfect for a "full face" make up look. I've never been a big blush person but I have this one in the shade "Paaarty" and it's really pretty on.
7. Too Faced discounted the powder foundation I featured in my last makeup routine post so I recently switched to the Bare Minerals Powder Foundation and love it so far! I apply it using the big Lilly Pulitzer brush in the graphic and I wear this powder everyday as it looks good on its own or when used with liquid foundation.
8. I definitely don't do this everyday but after brushing out my eyebrows with a brush I got from Sephora, I will in some spots in my eyebrows with the Anastasia Brow Wiz to make my eyebrows look thicker.
9. I've been using Clinique's Quickliner for Eyes for years now and love how easy it is to use as well as the richness of the color. In the past year or so, I started using the color "Intense Clove" as they discounted my previous favorite and I really love it!
10. I've been using the Naked Basics Palette for eye shadow for about a year and a half and love it as it's perfect for makeup newbies. All of the shades are easy to use and aren't super crazy colors that you can't use it your day to day life. I typically use the colors "Foxy", "W.O.S.", and "Naked 2" and apply them using the smaller Lilly Pulitzer brushes!
11. I'm definitely not the first blogger to talk about how great the Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara is but it's definitely my favorite.
12. This Coola Makeup Setting Spray was another sample that I received in my Birchbox last month that I love so far! After applying all of my makeup, I'll spray it all over my face (avoid the eyes though!) and then pat it in. I feel like it makes my makeup last so much longer and it's refreshing as well.
13. Even though the price tag is pretty steep, I absolutely love the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rosé. It helps my lips feel so moisturized and it smells so good too. I've repurchased this one multiple times now and think it's absolutely worth the splurge!
What are staples in your makeup routine? Let me know in the comments!
I've heard such great things about all of the Naked palettes. I'll have to try them out sometime!
