My College Nighttime Routine

Tuesday, April 10, 2018

After sharing my college morning routine with y'all a while back on the blog, I knew that I wanted to share my nighttime routine with y'all as well. Even though my days can be pretty unpredictable in college and I don't necessarily go to bed at the same time every day, following this routine gets me ready to go to bed in terms of relaxing and also prepares me for the next day!

Shower
I am definitely a nighttime shower-er as I love how it relaxes me after a busy day. Before I get in the shower, I usually dry brush (sometimes I forget haha!) and then I use this shampoo and this conditioner, which I love!

Brush teeth + wash face
My building has a communal bathroom so I typically do this right after showering just because of the fact I'm already in the bathroom!

Blow-dry my hair
I used to be the worst about blow drying my hair but I try to do it each time I shower as my hair looks so much better if I blow dry it!

Tidy up my room
I can't go to bed with a messy room so I always tidy things up. Usually it's pretty small like putting away laundry and cleaning up my desk but I love knowing that I'll wake up to a clean room in the morning.

Make a cup of tea
This is definitely one of those things where I see myself turning into my mom as she always drinks a cup of tea before bed. We always have Bedtime tea at home so I'll try to have a cup of that before bed as it is so calming.

Read/Watch Netflix in Bed
Depending on what time it is, I'll watch Netflix or read a book for fun. This definitely doesn't happen every night as sometimes it's later than I'd like it to be and I just want to go to bed but I love when I have time for this step as it gives me a bit of "me time" after a busy day.

Lights out!
Then it's time for bed! I definitely love going to bed early so I usually go to bed around 11:00-11:30 but will never complain if it's earlier than that haha!

What does your nighttime routine look like? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Great routine tips! How we start and end our days can make a HUGE impact on how our day goes :)
